Vegeta's Ultra Ego!

In his battle against Granolah, Vegeta unveils a new transformation he dubs Ultra Ego. The Saiyan Prince powers up into his new form for the first time after surviving Granolah's blows for much longer than Goku did with Ultra Instinct. According to Lord Beerus, using the power of destruction is intuitive and requires complete concentration from the user. Vegeta can devote himself fully to the fight and prepare for his first ascension to the power of a Destroyer God because the universe is not in danger during the fight against Granolah.

A worn-out Goku notices that Vegeta's regular god ki has changed as the Saiyan Prince gains power, indicating that it is now that of a Destroyer. Vegeta casually swats Granolah around the battlefield like a space volleyball, giving the impression that he has just acquired a rather typical power-up. Vegeta receives a powerful hit from Granolah after regaining his composure, which reveals that Vegeta's new power is more complex than first appears.

Following Granolah's assault, Vegeta asserts that he grows more powerful the hotter his combat spirit burns. When he takes battle damage in his new form, he can amp up his strength even more. Vegeta claims his own method, Ultra Ego, is greater to Goku's and calls it so when Granolah points out that it is the exact reverse of Goku's technique. A appropriate moniker for the ability, as Vegeta happily refuses to avoid Granolah's blows because he knows he can exploit them to grow stronger.

Vegeta learned from Lord Beerus that this obsession with destruction, motivated by instinct, bestows the person with limitless strength. Although in theory Ultra Ego has an unlimited amount of power, Vegeta's fight with Granolah shows that the form's effectiveness is entirely dependant on the strength of the person using it. Vegeta's stamina undoubtedly increased from his Super Saiyan Blue form, and he used Ultra Ego to withstand blows that undoubtedly would have killed him otherwise. However, it is insufficient.

Vegeta no longer becomes stronger from absorbing damage once his stamina runs out, which is a crucial component of Ultra Ego's potency. The battle is over when Vegeta's body can no longer handle the strength of Ultra Ego, much like when Goku used Ultra Instinct in the Tournament of Power without sufficient conditioning. Since Vegeta is a mortal, this power belongs to true divine beings. To fully exploit Ultra Ego's boundless potential, the Saiyan Prince must continue to train his body to resist powerful strikes for longer periods of time.

Despite possessing the power of destruction—Ultra Ego is only Vegeta's moniker for this form—Vegeta doesn't largely rely on the actual Destruction technique when in this form. Perhaps Toppo in the Tournament of Power taught him that relying too much on destruction doesn't always guarantee success. Vegeta summons Destruction energy in a last-ditch attempt to beat Granolah, but because to his diminished strength, Granolah is able to repel and negate the powerful blow.

In every manner, Ultra Ego is the complete antithesis of Ultra Instinct, which is ideal for Vegeta's refusal to follow Goku around. Ultra Ego changes Vegeta into a barbarian who enjoys taking damage, as opposed to having a calm heart and dodging strikes. It's likely that Vegeta's method is greater after all, given how much more effective Vegeta was utilising Ultra Ego against Granolah than Goku was with Ultra Instinct. Hopefully, upcoming Dragon Ball Super chapters will show how far Vegeta can use this method until he needs to pick up new skills to keep up with Goku.
