Who is Uchiha Madara?

Uchiha Madara, a legendary shinobi feared all around the world, created a brilliant plan to end the shinobi's world constant war dilemma. His brilliant scheme was to execute the Infinite Tsukuyomi, a genjutsu that submerges shinobi into a state of dreaminess where their greatest desires are fulfilled.

During the height of the shinobi conflict, Uchiha Madara and Senju Hashirama met and quickly became close friends despite not knowing each other's families. But after they both realised who they really were, the friendship quickly withered away and turned into enmity. Over the years, despite their best efforts, Madara and Hashirama were never able to triumph over the other. Despite their two-decade-long conflict, Hashirama wanted peaceful coexistence between the two clans and Madara knew that even with the Mangekyo Sharingan he had, he could never vanquish Hashirama.

Together with other clans, the Uchiha, Senjus, and others created Konoha Village as a haven for peace. The peace offering was put on hold when Tobirama Senju killed Uchiha Izuna. However, Uchiha Madara and Senju Hashirama finally decided to make peace after having so many battles. The truce was short-lived since Madara wanted the Uchiha to have complete authority over Konoha and Hashirama desired collaboration from related clans. When the village elected Hashirama to rule Konoha village, that was the last straw.

Madara feared the dominance of the other clans over the Uchihas and viewed this as a scheme to suppress his clan. Understanding that peace was  a myth in the shinobi world and that conflict will always arise as long as someone was dissatisfied. Madara abandoned Konoha and launched a series of attacks against it, before eventually deciding to use the power of the nine-tail fox. Madara seemingly perished at the hands of Hashirama and was afterwards regarded as one of the most influential figures in the shinobi world.

Instead of passing away at the hands of Hashirama, Uchiha Madara revived with the Izanagi and waited until the end of his life to put his scheme in the hands of a pawn. Madara thought that the idea of a tranquil shinobi world was a myth, and that once power was vested in a select few, peace would never be attained. And so, he remained in hiding until all the pieces were in place for his plan to work.

During the third shinobi war, Uchiha Obito fell into Madara's hands after suffering a grave injury.  Using his old friend Hashirama's cell to heal him, Madara attempted to persuade Obito to side with him as they met. One of the devious strategies Madara used to draw Obito into his master plan wass to have Rin, Obito's love interest and best friend, perish at the hands of Hatake Kakashi. Obito, devastated by her death, offered to continue Madara's work to rid of all conflict in the shinobi war.

Madara's faith in the Infinite Tsukuyomi may be foolish and twisted, but all he ever desired was a tranquil setting where his clan might thrive. Both Madara and his greatest foe and friend, Hashirama wanted peace, but they approached it in different ways. The shinobi world of Naruto is intricate and violent, and up until the conclusion of the Naruto series, it was constantly at war.
The darkness that permeates the shinobi world is symbolised by figures like Nagato, Konan, Yahiko, and Itachi, among others. These people are pariahs because of the conflict between the larger systems. During the war, the major shinobi villages conquered Nagato, Konan, and Rin's homeland. , It shaped Nagato to become the pain of the world and Konan would always support his goal, especially in the wake of Yahiko's passing. Itachi was used as a pawn in a plot to bring a brief peace to Konoha.
