The Archons of Teyvat: An Introduction
The lands of Teyvat are ruled by powerful beings known as Archons in Genshin Impact. These gods, also known as The Seven, are in charge of their own region of Teyvat and are each allocated one of the seven elements. The Archons, in contrast to other characters, are not dependent on visions to command their element. Instead, they have Gnoses, unique objects with a direct connection to Celestia, from which the Archons derive their power. The Archons often roam the world, disguised in an human persona. Some of them didnt survive until the present but have persisted until the Traveler’s appearance in Teyvat.
The Anemo Archon and monarch of Mondstadt is Barbatos, one of the few Archons that have lived since the Archon War. Despite this, he rarely meddles in the affairs of his people. His ideal is freedom and he rather prefers to explore the world and let his supporters fend for themselves. By the time the story of the Traveler begins, Barbatos is already a mortal known as Venti of Genshin Impact, and he travels the globe posing as a bard – singing and drinking all the way through.Similar to Barbatos, Morax has continued to rule over Liyue as the Geo Archon for millennia after the Archon War. He is one of Genshin Impact's oldest characters. However, the Traveler learns from Liyue's Archon Quests that Morax wants to retire and see if his people can survive without his help. After that, Morax abdicates his position and resumes living as Zhongli, a human. Even so, he continues to uphold his heavenly ideal and all of his contracts.
Beelzebub, also known as Raiden Ei, is the leader of Inazuma and the Electro Archon at the moment. Ei, in contrast to Barbatos and Morax, has only served as an Archon for a little over 500 years. This is due to the fact that she assumed the role of her sister Baal when she died during the cataclysm's events. When Ei assumed the role of the Archon, she misinterpreted her twin sister's conception of eternity and compelled her people to live in

unchanging perpetuity.
The Dendro Archon and youngest of the Seven is Buer. She is known as the Lesser Lord Kusanali because she was born after the passing of the previous Archon, Greater Lord Rukkhadevata. She doesn't have much power over her territory and a great part of it is attributable to the Sages of the Akademiya who have usurped her authority. In the final chapter of Sumeru's Archon questline, Nahida, Buer's mortal incarnation, demonstrates why she deserves to be called the 'God of Wisdom.'
The Hydro Archon and king of Fontaine is Focalors. The region hasn't been disclosed as of Genshin Impact 3.2, however there are some hints concerning Focalor's personality. She is described in-game as having a strong preference for justice and treating accusations of misconduct seriously. But the name of her mortal self is still a mystery.
Murata is the Pyro Archon's mortal name, in sharp contrast to Focalors. She is known as the Lady of Fire and rules over Natlan, yet her true Archon name has not yet been made public. She appears to be connected to Vennessa given that Venti refers to her tribe as the "Children of Murata" in the Genshin Impact manga. Venti also acknowledges that Murata occasionally comes out as "very obnoxious."
The Cryo Archon and king of Snezhnaya is known as the Tsaritsa. Her Archon identity as well as her mortal identity have not been made public. Even the Genshin Impact's Fatui Harbingers address her by her given name. She is the major antagonist in Genshin Impact, but it's not entirely obvious why. All that is currently known about her is that she is intimidating the other nations of Teyvat and attempting to seize control of the Gnoses of the other Archons.
